Bassam Hashem, MD, is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care specialist. He treats various pulmonary issues including airway disease management, sleep-disordered breathing and lung diseases that cause scarring.

According to Dr. Hashem, a patient-centered, team-based approach is essential to delivering comprehensive and effective health care. “I make sure my patients are well-informed and educated about their issues so that they may participate fully in their treatment,” he says.

Dr. Hashem earned his medical degree from the Aleppo University School of Medicine in Aleppo, Syria, and completed his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. He completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.
