Doctor talking:

Both my older brother and I, when we were little, I had an uncle who was, uh, truly an inspirational person, he was a pediatrician, and from as early as I can remember, he, uh, he would take us with him when he would do house calls. And uh, that experience, having seen someone who was such a kind, caring person and how much good he did and the gratification it gave him I think it inspired both my brother and I to become physicians.

Orthopaedic surgery on screen:

One thing about, er, that’s rewarding about, uh, surgery, particularly orthopaedics, is that, you know

Doctor meeting with patient:

perhaps it’s immediate gratification for us but it’s the ability to make people whole, you know, to take somebody who, uh, either through a disease like arthritis or, uh, trauma, uh, has had something bad befall them and you can try and, uh, restore their, their the function of their life.

Provider talking:

When you’re a junior in medical school and you rotate through, ah, different specialties you find what you like and what you don’t. Um, and when I got to surgery I just

Palos Medical Group on screen:

absolutely loved it ... and it’s just a very comfortable place to work and I think it’s a place that

Provider meeting with nurses:

Uh, can deliver as high a quality of care to people as there exists, so it was a very uh, uh, uh, fortunate situation to be able to join.

Philosophy of Care on screen:

Basically it’s to treat people like you would want to be treated or like you would want someone to treat a family member. And I guess my wife is one of 12 kids and so I end up treating a lot of family members.

Palos Medical Group on screen:

When someone has the misfortune of having to see us it’s usually because something bad has befallen them--either they’ve gotten an injury, either on the job or in sports or just everyday living or and through the course of their life they’ve developed, uh, some wear and tear problems like arthritis. So when they have musculoskeletal problems or bone and joint problems is when they come to see us.
