Bruce Dolitsky, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in knee/lower limb and hip/pelvic bone procedures.
As an experienced surgeon, Dr. Dolitsky follows a conservative approach when it comes to bone and joint disorders and injuries. “It is my belief that the best medical care is that which is associated with the least risk,” he explains. “Surgery is often my last recommended option. However, when necessary, I will perform it as soon as possible. I always welcome a second opinion for patients that want one.”
Dr. Dolitsky earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.

caring for patients because I can make a difference often in a short time. Being able to see results in the short time is very satisfying. I believe in conservative treatment. However, my practice includes surgery in many cases.
My most common surgeries are knee and hip replacements, taking care of fractures such as hip fractures, as well as miscellaneous surgery, such as rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel releases, and many more.
Philosophy of Care text appears on screen:
I feel being a physician that my job is to be there for my patients and not the other way around.
I treat people the same way I would treat a member of my family. It is my belief that the best medical care is that which is associated with the least risk that will alleviate the problem.
Doctor with patient:
Surgery is my last recommended option. However, when necessary as in cases of fractures or infections, I will perform it as soon as possible. Finally, I always welcome a second opinion for patients that want one.
