Dr. Wardell is a joint reconstruction specialist in both hip and knee surgery and revision in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and has been in practice since 1996 after completing the prestigious Otto AuFranc Joint Reconstructive Fellowship at Tufts University located in Boston, Massachusetts. As a graduate of Northwestern University Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program in 1995, Dr. Wardell’s interests lie in eliminating and minimizing postoperative complications and minimally invasive hip and knee replacement with a focus on computer assisted surgical navigation. These techniques allow quicker recovery and shorter hospital stay with less postoperative pain. During his fellowship, Dr. Wardell trained residents from Harvard University and Tufts University in these techniques, has written numerous publications and spoken at many national meetings educating fellow orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Wardell prides himself in providing the highest level of compassionate care to patients and utilizing minimally invasive surgery when possible.
