3D™ Breast Cancer Detection

Breast tomosynthesis, 3D Mammography™, is a new technology in the fight against breast cancer. Working in conjunction with digital mammography, breast tomosynthesis captures images in such a way that it allows doctors to examine breast tissue in one-millimeter slices at a time.

Fine details are more clearly visible helping radiologists detect very small cancers while reducing the number of women called back for diagnostic mammograms.

Breast tomosynthesis is available at the Women's Center in Orland Park (please use South Campus Entrance 2) and the Women's Center via the main lobby of Palos Hospital.

Advanced Digital Technology
